My jar of dreams
Big Friendly Giant: Activity 1
Big Friendly Giant is different from other giants. He is the only nice giant in the Giant Country. He is kind and refuses to hurt ‘human beans’. BFG secretly collects dreams in a jar and spreads the good dreams to the children of this world. So this week, our activity was around talking about our dreams.
There are dreams that we dream of when we are asleep but we also daydream and manifest our aspirations through our dreams. It is important that we ask kids about their dreams and their aspirations and even more important to encourage them early on to follow their dreams. There are some real and genuine opportunities in our daily lives, and when kids are attuned to what they want, it can shape and inform future goals and aspirations.
Writing can help kids figure out what their dreams are and follow their dreams in a more realistic way rather than an impulsive wish. So here is a fun and interactive activity to encourage kids to think about their dreams. I personally love this activity, because it has many potential. For example, it can be elaborated further to a goal setting activity.
