Our Purpose
Our purpose is to support young people stay connected with their cultural heritage through storytelling.
Building a diverse storytelling community
We are dedicated to promoting children's books and illustrations crafted by talented Nepali artists. Operating independently, we exclusively highlight works authored and/or illustrated by Nepali creators in Australia.
We firmly believe that diverse perspectives and storytelling voices can bridge divides, ignite inspiration, and nurture a sense of community.
Fostering reading habits
By making reading enjoyable, interactive, and accessible, we strive to promote diverse storytelling and foster a love for reading among young Nepali children through the Ekadeshma Book Club.
Our aim is to establish a space for meaningful discussions, engaging activities, and opportunities to connect with fellow book lovers. Our reading kit features a guided reading plan and an activity workbook available in both Nepali and English.
Championing innovative storytelling platforms
We support young individuals in staying connected to their cultural roots through storytelling. Ekadeshma highlights narratives inspired by Nepali literature, folklore, and festivals.
We actively collaborate with grassroots organizations, offering a structured book club framework for community groups. In addition, we provide storytelling sessions, an online bookstore, and a YouTube channel designed for our community.
